Matt is a simple boy from the small town of Eden, North Carolina. The son of a sweet army mom and GI dad; he's coming of age and the only person who knows his secret is his BFF Stacey.

Fall break has begun; a time of rest and fun all ending on Halloween night where the local teens come together for a big bonfire. They hang out, make out and get into trouble. When Stacey shows up at Matt's with her cute cousin Josh from Martinsville Virginia; Matt can't deny their instant attraction, leaving Stacey jealous of their connection.

But, Josh lives a far different life back home; the son of a GI dad and police officer mom he lives a well-coordinated schedule leaving him little time for relationships. As the weekend comes to a close, he ponders if it is worth taking their friendship to the next level and ask Matt to be his boyfriend.

With help from Stacey, there may be a way if she can overcome her jealousy. In an odd twist of events, Stacey and Matt find themselves in danger at the bonfire requiring Josh to rescue them. But he decided not to go so he could decide whether he and Matt are meant to be together. Can Josh make it in time to save them or will his promise to protect Matt be broken?
